New Music Friday: The Bobby Lees' 'New Self,' La Sécurité's 'Bingo!,' Fruit Bats' 'The Landfill'

This week’s release radar leans scrappy and a little unhinged, in the best way. The Bobby Lees — never a band to sit still stylistically — dropped New Self, while Montreal’s La Sécurité kept their winning streak of tightly-wound post-punk going with Bingo!. On the more laid-back end of the spectrum, Fruit Bats released The Landfill, another entry in a discography that’s quietly become one of indie rock’s most reliable comfort listens.

Three records, three completely different moods, one Friday. That’s the job.
