Privacy Policy
We spend our energy obsessing over records, not your data. Here's the plain-English version of what happens to your information when you visit Only Great Music — no legalese solos, we promise.
Who we are
Only Great Music ("we," "us," the folks behind the rainbow badge) publishes music reviews and musings at onlygreatmusic.com. For anything privacy-related, write to contact@onlygreatmusic.com.
What we collect
Almost nothing, directly. We don't have accounts, comment boxes, newsletters, or sign-up forms. You can read every review on this site without telling us who you are.
Server logs. Our hosting provider (Netlify) automatically logs basic technical data when you visit — things like your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request. This is standard for virtually every website on the internet and is used to keep the site running and secure. You can read Netlify's own privacy policy at netlify.com/privacy.
Email. If you write to us, we'll have your email address and whatever you put in the message. We use it to reply to you and for nothing else. We don't sell it, share it, or add you to any list.
Advertising and cookies
We use Google AdSense to show ads on this site. That's how we keep the lights on while keeping every review free. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings (myadcenter.google.com). You can also opt out of many other third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices. Depending on where you live, you may see a consent message before any advertising cookies are set, and you can change your choice at any time.
Analytics
We don't currently run any analytics or tracking scripts of our own. If that ever changes, this page will say so.
Third-party links
Reviews link out to streaming services, artist pages, and other sites. Once you leave onlygreatmusic.com, their privacy policies apply, not ours. Choose your bandcamp rabbit holes wisely.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/EEA under GDPR or California under CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data about you. Since we barely collect any, exercising them is usually as simple as emailing us at contact@onlygreatmusic.com — we'll sort it out like humans.
Children
This site is a general-audience music publication and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes get a plain-language note, not a buried footnote.
Short version: we review records, not readers.
