Clara Mann Announces Second Album 'Wishbone,' Shares Lead Single 'News From Home'

Clara Mann is following up her 2025 debut Rift with a second album, Wishbone, out October 23 on state51. The South London folk singer-songwriter shared the news alongside a lead single, “News From Home,” which she says explores “a thread between a once-home landscape and my real, adult life.”

The record was cut at Bam Bam Studios in Norfolk with producer Fabian Prynn, a 4AD studio regular, and brings in a small band of collaborators — Kit Mosely on guitar, Marianne Schofield on double bass, Owen Spafford on viola, Martin Egaldi on cello, and Tennessee Woodiel on banjo — to flesh out Mann’s typically spare arrangements. By her own account, this one required more nerve than Rift did: “I felt very bare writing a lot of this album,” Mann said of the sessions. “I wasn’t interested in hiding behind the songs anymore, or being elusive or oblique.”

That directness shows up in the album’s frame, too. Wishbone takes its shape loosely from Leos Carax’s 1991 film Les Amants du Pont-Neuf, and the eleven-track sequence — including “Fortuna,” “Go Getter,” the title track, and closer “Video Games” — suggests an album more interested in following a feeling to the end of the room than resolving it neatly. “News From Home” is out now everywhere; Wishbone lands in full on October 23.
