How Strange It Is Announce New Album 'There Is No Evil,' Share Single 'Slime'

How Strange It Is announced their new album There Is No Evil this week, out October 20 on Pleasure Tapes, alongside lead single “Slime.” The record was produced by the band’s Jordan Krinsky, with assistance from Caleb Ballard and Vin Christopher, and rounds out a nine-track set that includes “EVL,” “SMALLER smaller,” “Tough Luck,” “Venus In The 12th House,” and closer “Lay And Wait.”

“This album is a collage of different cases where most people act in their own self-interest at the expense of another person (or people),” Krinsky said of the record. “There’s songs about the government, songs about getting dumped. It’s kind of all over the place.”

The band — Krinsky on vocals and songwriting, Caleb Ballard on guitar, clarinet, synth, and additional vocals, Annie Miranda on bass, Annie Fifer on guitar and additional vocals, and Kyle Gordon on drums — keeps that scattershot premise from turning into a grab bag by anchoring it in Krinsky’s plainspoken, slightly rattled delivery, audible right away on “Slime.”

There Is No Evil is out October 20 on Pleasure Tapes, with the album currently available for pre-order via Bandcamp.
