Newport Folk's 67th Edition Returns to Fort Adams July 24-26

One of indie and folk music’s most beloved traditions is back in a little over a week: Newport Folk Festival’s 67th annual edition takes over Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island, July 24 through 26. True to form, Newport Folk hasn’t dumped a full lineup poster the way most festivals do — the booking has trickled out in pieces over the months leading up to the weekend, which has become part of the event’s charm.

Recent years have brought a genuinely wild range of artists to the same three days — past editions have featured Jack Antonoff and Bleachers, Waxahatchee, MJ Lenderman, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Alex G, Iron & Wine, and Kim Deal, often popping up for surprise sit-ins with each other. If this year holds to form, expect the surprises to keep coming right up through the weekend itself.
