Tomahawk Reunite After 13 Years, Hit the Road with Melvins

Tomahawk — the long-running project pairing Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle) with guitarist Duane Denison, bassist Trevor Dunn, and drummer John Stanier — returned to the stage on July 18 at Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville, their first performance in 13 years. The set drew from across the band’s catalog, leaned heavily on 2021’s Tonic Immobility (never before played live), worked in a cover of Duane Eddy’s “Stalkin’,” and closed with the title track from 2001’s self-titled debut.

The reunion show launches a run with Melvins billed as the “A Huge Waste Of Your Time And Money Tour,” continuing through mid-August. Patton’s other band, Faith No More, is also set to resume touring in 2027 after a decade-long hiatus — making this a very good year to be a Mike Patton fan.
